Canon Europe, Confirming the sale of more than 500 units of the flagship imagePRESS C10000VP Series in EMEA since its official launch in September 2015, Canon Europe – leader in imaging solutions – reports that customer feedback to date has shown exceptional satisfaction in both the product and the consequent business impact.

Aimed at both commercial and in-house print service providers (PSPs) seeking high quality performance despite ever-increasing production volumes, the imagePRESS C10000VP Series – comprising the 100 page-per-minute C10000VP and the 80 page-per-minute C8000VP – has helped to grow confidence in the high-end cut-sheet market by enabling PSPs to increase their output and even enable diversification into new application areas.

With technological innovations that enhance throughput, ensure reliably consistent colour and more accurate registration control, the imagePRESS C10000VP Series builds on the success of the imagePRESS range to date and offers customers speeds of up to 100 impressions per minute irrespective of media weight up to 350gsm.

Carsten Dickau, Teamleader, Information Logistics Service and Competence Center of Berlin-based insurance business IDEAL Lebensversicherung a.G., has found the installation of the C10000VP to have been integral to the development of the company’s customer communications operation. He commented: “Print plays a very important role in our business and allows us to keep in touch with customers from both a marketing and sales support perspective. With that in mind, we need to make sure that we are using the most reliable equipment available, hence the integration of the C10000VP.

“Our investment in this press was prompted by the production speed, productivity and stability capabilities on offer. With fewer maintenance intervals required too, we knew we would be able to achieve a greater level of uptime from the equipment, leading to increased print output.

“This technology has allowed us to respond quicker to customer enquiries and deliver more suitable marketing materials as a result. What’s more, the mailings are of a far superior quality than we’ve ever produced before, delivering image brilliance on a wider variety of substrates. This in itself has led to the introduction of new application possibilities in our marketing and sales departments,” said Dickau.

“Overall, uptime, productivity, performance and quality have dramatically improved and we’re confident that the imagePRESS C10000VP will continue to deliver.”

Stéphane Nolle, Manager of Société Moderne d’Impression (S.M.I) – a commercial printing company based in Clermont, France – comments: “Prior to our investment in Canon technology, S.M.I was solely an offset printing company. Realising the potential of digital print and what it would enable us to offer our customers, we invested in three imagePRESS C10000VP Series presses. Our key purchasing criteria were speed, quality and reliability with a long-term view to increase production and open the door to new services in the future.

“It was clear to see that this technology would enable us to print better than ever before and allow us to increase the range of media we could print on to – thereby also allowing us to diversify our service offering to clients. We are now able to work with a wider range of thicker and more structured paper types such as 350gsm paper, which we could not do before.

“The quality of the work produced using the C10000VP is second to none – the colour consistency and overall quality is far superior to anything else on the market. What’s more, the exceptional uplift it has afforded us in terms of productivity – approximately 30% – has allowed us to increase our client base while also making our pricing models more competitive and, therefore, more attractive to potential customers.

“We currently have an average print volume of 250,000 pages per month, however with a duty cycle of up to 1.8 million, the C10000VP offers us the scope to comfortably grow the business whilst managing even the most demanding production peaks of current customers.”

Peter Wolff, Senior Director, Customer Group Commercial Printer and Production CRD, Canon Europe commented: “With the launch of the imagePRESS C10000VP Series, we responded to a call for outstanding image quality, predictable colour consistency and accurate registration on whatever media our customers choose, without compromising on speed.

“It’s immensely encouraging to hear feedback that hails this technology such a resounding success and to see customers reaping the benefits. This is testament to the success of how, as a business, we innovate through understanding and responding to what our customers tell us they need to advance their business.

“Interestingly, we are also seeing many customers installing the C10000VP alongside both cut-sheet and continuous feed inkjet engines from Canon, forming truly blended production environments and making the notion of ‘toner versus inkjet’ a thing of the past. PSPs are clearly seeing how complementary technologies, and indeed diverse methods of digital production, can offer business-changing results. We are proud to be at the forefront of this evolution with an extensive product, service and support portfolio that makes this possible from a single source,” concluded Wolff.
