Leaderform SpA has chosen to upgrade its production capabilities by replacing their existing SCREEN digital printing equipment with two new Truepress JET high-speed inkjet presses to bring the latest Japanese precision-engineered printing technology to the Italian market.
With over 40 years of experience, Leaderform SpA has built a reputation for delivering cross-media communication services ranging from transactional documentation and direct mailing to proximity marketing, packaging, and display solutions. Since installing its first SCREEN inkjet presses in 2011, the company has consistently leveraged digital inkjet technology to drive productivity, enhance print quality, and increase automation across its operations.
Building on this strong foundation, Leaderform will now move forward with the installation of two new SCREEN presses, with the upcoming installations of the first ever Truepress JET 520NX AD and industry-tested Truepress JET 520HD+ to future-proof their offerings in the Italian transactional printing and high-quality direct mail sectors.
Investing in the Next-Generation of Print
While highly satisfied with the performance of their original SCREEN equipment that still functioned efficiently after more than a decade of operations, Leaderform identified the need to invest further in digital inkjet technology. Driven by their unique approach to business built on knowledge sharing and technological advancement to continually deliver innovative, data-driven solutions tailored to client demands.
As their long-standing and trusted digital printing equipment provider, they began their search with SCREEN. Roberto Marani, Leaderform's Pre-Press & Printing Quality Manager described the experience saying, "Three years ago, I personally initiated testing with the Truepress JET 520HD+ and was immediately impressed by the superior print quality achieved on standard coated paper. The ability to reproduce the Isocoated standard without primers or treated paper is exceptional. Regarding the Truepress JET 520NX AD, which we evaluated just after its release in 2025, we observed remarkable level of productivity and ease of use, while maintaining the same high print-quality standards our clients expect."
Discussing his expectations for how the new presses would enhance their overall operations, Marani said, "Both are perfectly suited to their respective applications. The Truepress JET 520NX AD offers impressive speeds of up to 225 metres per minute, while supporting the ability to adjust print speeds based on the quality required— all while achieving the right competitive balance between quality and cost per printed piece needed in transactional printing. Meanwhile, our direct mail clients expect us to meet Isocoated quality levels on standard papers, without using coatings or primers that alter the substrates texture or colour. The Truepress JET 520HD+ does all this by printing on offset-coated substrates without priming, while providing full 1200 dpi resolution and wide colour gamut reproduction."
Meeting the Demand for Personalised Communication
As a recognised leader in Italy’s commercial printing sector, Leaderform sees the investment as essential to meeting growing demand for highly personalised, one-to-one communications. The shift towards multi-channel marketing, combined with increasing sustainability expectations, is reshaping the industry— and Leaderform is determined to stay at the forefront.
"Leaderform is committed to staying ahead of these trends by continuously evolving our technologies and services to meet the changing needs of the market, and to achieve this, SCREEN's technology was the best option," Marani concludes. "We've come trust that SCREEN will continue delivering exceptional client-oriented digital printing solutions, and we are confident these innovations will continue to be supported by their excellent service and support based on our long-standing professional relationship."
Giuseppe Di Martino, Operation Manager at Leaderform, emphasises, “The introduction of the new Truepress JET systems represents a strategic step to ensure operational efficiency and production flexibility. We carefully evaluated every technical and managerial aspect before moving forward, and we are confident that this choice will allow us to respond even more quickly to the demands for personalization and timely delivery required by our customers.”
By adopting SCREEN's latest inkjet technologies, Leaderform strengthens its competitive position as an early innovator in Italy's dynamic commercial printing market. This strategic investment positions them to capitalise on the sector's rapid growth and rising demand for high-performance digital printing solutions.
