The printing service provider Schaetzl and the Slovenian company Hooray Studios are adding a new dimension to personalized children's books: in addition to the normal story, their book “Glow in the Dark” offers young readers another hidden story which only lights up in the dark. For this, the new HP Indigo ElectroInk Invisible Yellow is used. The additional story within the book is only visible with a special UV lamp, providing double the reading fun.
Hooray Studios was founded to encourage the pleasure of reading amongst children through personalized stories. The Ljubiljana-based company now employs more than 150 people at its headquarters and in its worldwide offices in Italy, Austria, France, Germany, England and the USA. With almost one million books sold in 2019, Hooray Studios is one of the world's leading suppliers of personalized children's books. The market entry in other European countries, as well as Canada and Australia is planned. In 2019, the company was named start-up of the year.
Schaetzl Druck & Medien GmbH & Co. KG from Donauwoerth, Germany is responsible für the printing. The company has been using HP‘s digital printing services since 2011 and owns two HP Indigo 7900 and two HP Indigo 12000 digital presses.
“Embedding the printing machines in a fully automated process chain is crucial for us. For example, we use HP Print OS with HP PrintOS Siteflow. This solution enables us to automate decisions and procedures in the printing process“, states Ulrich Schaetzl, Managing Director Schaetzl Druck & Medien GmbH & Co. KG.
The company is constantly expanding its range of services to include additional and innovative printing services which is why they also beta-tested the new HP Indigo ElectroInk Invisible Yellow. These new colours offer growth opportunities for both print providers and customers. Thanks to this innovation, unprecedented applications can now be realised. The first result is the collaboration with Hooray Studios for the production of personalised children's books. “We are very happy about our partnership with Schaetzl and are excited about the opportunities that the HP technology, which was essential for our “Glow-in-the-Dark” books, has to offer”, adds Dejan Cesar, Business Development Manager of Hooray Studios.
