London and Berlin-based investment firm Hypax has acquired Precision Colour Printing in a carve-out transaction from Claverley Group. The transaction has already completed; the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Precision Colour Printing (PCP) is one of the UK’s leading B2B commercial printing players, providing a full-service printing, finishing and fulfilment offering to a broad and loyal customer base, including publishers, holiday companies and brands. In line with the wider industry, PCP has been impacted by effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the printing market, exacerbated by rising energy costs and input prices. This transaction will enable the business to look ahead, and re-focus efforts on growth and operational efficiencies. This will include further investment in product workflow improvements and energy efficiency to reduce its cost base.

The company was acquired from Claverley Group, a Midlands-based media group. Claverley Group decided to dispose of PCP, following a strategic review and decision to focus on its core business activities. Claverley Group will continue to be an important customer of the business.
