Marketing speakers from the Independent Print Industry Association’s (IPIA) 2019 EPIC conference will again return to the ‘stage’ this December to reflect on how effective their advice proved in 2020’s challenging Covid-19 conditions.

Marketing keynotes Peter Docker (Co-author, Find your Why), Mark Wright (Founder and Director, Climb Online, Winner 2014 BBC’s The Apprentice), Mark Davies (Whistl) and Scott Logie (REaD Group) will all return to share their thoughts, research and lived experiences on what worked, what didn’t work and where efforts should now be focused.
It’s been over 12 months since 300 delegates packed into the sell-out ‘Everything’s possible; integrated communications’ (EPIC) conference. The IPIA was keen to build on this event’s momentum and felt that bringing back the same speakers to do a virtual ‘EPIC Update’ would provide an element of continuity and consistency in an unprecedented and uncertain marketing world.
"It certainly won’t be Groundhog Day as Covid-19 changed everything!” says IPIA CEO Marian Stefani. “Consumer behaviour changed too as evidenced by a recent McKinsey report claiming five themes to emerge globally:
1. Shift to value and essentials
2. Flight to digital and omnichannel
3. Shock to loyalty
4. Health and ‘caring’ economy
5. Homebody economy
“Our event explores these themes and will show how marketers can use systems, processes, channels and technology to work in this new normal. And to illustrate how print particularly has made meaningful connections during this pandemic and how it still has the power to unite remote consumers,” suggests Marian
The virtual EPIC Update will be broadcast live on the mornings of December 2 and 3 between 10am and 1pm. It is free to attend and delegates will also see video content, tips and advice, from Rory Sutherland (Ogilvy Group), Dee Blick (The Marketing Gym) and other EPIC supporters and speakers, including Olga Munroe from the Retail Institute.
The IPIA is using the Remo app to host the event to enable a more immersive experience where delegates can interact with each other as well as keep up with the conference schedule. Registrations are now open at epicthinking.net
