The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF), a nonprofit organization working to build the future workforce of the graphic communications industry through educational scholarships, is pleased to announce that scholarships for the 2023/24 academic school year have been granted.

The accelerating development of Artificial Intelligence in the news media poses incredible opportunities but also threats to the integrity of information. In response to this unprecedented challenge, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and international partners, including WAN-IFRA, are launching a committee, chaired by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Ressa, to draw up a charter to advise regulatory initiatives in this area.

Acquisition highlights & customer benefits:
· Expands products and services offered by Tecnau in the graphic communication segment, with added solutions for direct mail and transpromo markets
· Diversifies Tecnau into sustainable packaging for books, e-commerce and parcel sorting for intralogistics
· Creates a global entity with combined over 370 employees and revenues above USD 100 million (fiscal year 2022)
· Broadens Tecnau’s global reach with combined direct subsidiaries in United States, Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, Belgium, Singapore and Japan and a global distribution/agency network.

Emang Mutapati, editor-in-chief of The Voice in Botswana, has been named 2023 Laureate for Africa; Lina Ejeilat, co-founder and editor-in-chief of 7iber in Jordan, has been named 2023 Laureate for the Arab Region; and Glenda Gloria, the executive editor and co-founder of Rappler in The Philippines, has been named 2023 Laureate for Southeast Asia.

Eleven new members, including eight women executives, were elected to serve on WAN-IFRA’s Supervisory Board of Directors at its General Assembly of Members on 29 June 2023. During the same meeting, Fernando de Yarza was re-elected President of WAN-IFRA. Meeting during the 74th World News Media Congress in Taipei, the Board of the World Association of News Publishers issued five press freedom resolutions highlighting issues of major concern.

The World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), has announced the launch of its Expert Panel during the annual World News Media Congress being held in Taipei. 14 women and men who are well established as experts in the media industry will represent the association and work closely together with it around the globe with the goal of supporting the news media industry in its quest for sustainability.
