At AtéCé Graphic Products in Alkmaar in the Netherlands, a new fully automated system for the production of washcloth rolls was recently installed in the converting department. "This system is a customised solution," says Bernard van Stegeren, Senior Product Manager.

"It was developed especially for us and according to our own specifications. During the fully automated production process, there are no more manual steps. That is definitely unique. With this investment, our production capacity has once again increased significantly. This was necessary because our production volume of washcloth rolls is growing year after year. Why? Partly because of an increase in our export activities. We are exporting our washcloth rolls to more and more countries worldwide. We do this under our own brand name PressClean and as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) under our customers' label."
AtéCé has also invested in a new state-of-the-art facility for the production of impregnated washcloths. The impregnation is applied through a unique patented system. As a result, these washcloth rolls are ready for immediate use and have excellent washing power. There is less waste and a significantly shorter wash time. Furthermore, these PressClean Wet wash cloth rolls do not use any toxic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and are definitely very environmentally friendly.
Bernard van Stegeren: "Furthermore, the Fogra certification for PressClean washcloth rolls was recently extended for five years. The certification means that the washcloth rolls are approved for use on presses of all brands, including offset presses from German manufacturer Koenig & Bauer (KBA). The Fogra certificate is highly regarded. Fogra certification proves that our washcloth rolls meet the requirements of the independent testing institute."
