First balance: campaign has already saved over 1,400 t CO2 since September 2019

Epson EcoTanks become even more environmentally friendly. Thanks to the project initiated with its partner "ClimatePartner", the power consumption of each EcoTank is CO2-neutral during four years of operation.
Epson is underlining its sustainable company philosophy with a further CO2-avoiding action. Thus, after the purchase of each EcoTank, the company offsets the CO2 emissions1 by the electricity consumption that occurs during four years of operation. With its partner "ClimatePartner", Epson supports a drinking water project in Uganda which not only promotes climate protection, but also improves the social and economic situation of the local people.
Epson EcoTank inkjet printers are very environmentally friendly due to their PrecisionCore print head technology. In contrast to laser printers, they require only little power during operation thanks to the "cold" piezo printing technology. In addition, the large ink bottles, which allow print ranges of more than 10,000 pages depending on the model, avoid waste and the expense of procuring cartridges.
The drinking water project in Uganda
The project in the context of the "Improved Kitchen Regimes" programme helps the population of Uganda by creating and maintaining boreholes. These wells provide access to clean drinking water without the need to boil it. This avoids CO2 emissions that would be produced during boiling. At other project locations, the reduction is achieved by introducing efficient cooking units that use less firewood and thus also produce significantly less CO2 than conventional methods. The most important effects of the programme are thus the improved health of the people, in addition to the reduction of greenhouse gases.
