New certified integration automates tax compliance for improved accuracy, efficiency and customer experience

Aleyant, an innovative leader in providing robust software services to the graphic communications industry, today announced that as part of its ongoing expansion of Pressero Integrated Services, it has partnered with Avalara (NYSE:AVLR), a leading provider of cloud-based tax compliance automation for businesses of all sizes, to offer Avalara AvaTax to its customers, integrated with its Pressero web-to-print solution. Previously, Pressero users needed to enter tax rates manually, which was a complex, time-consuming and error-prone process, given that tax rates can vary even within a single zip code and calculating international taxes can be complicated as well.
Pressero is now part of Avalara's "Certified for AvaTax" program, which features integrations that perform at the highest level, providing the best possible customer experience. As a result of this partnership, Pressero customers can now choose AvaTax to deliver tax calculations within existing business applications at the time of checkout or billing — in real time.
“The moment you launch a web storefront, you automatically have the ability to have a global footprint,” said Trent Foreman, Aleyant’s Director of Product Management. “Along with that comes the difficulty of navigating tax laws, not only the complexity of 50 states and the cities, counties and special jurisdictions within them that all have different laws and rates, but those of other countries as well. This integration puts tax compliance within easy reach of businesses of all types and sizes and is part of our ongoing strategy of integrating useful modules into our industry-leading Pressero web storefront platform, in order to deliver increased value and ease of use to our customers.”
By adding the Avatax integration to Pressero, users will be able to use it on all storefronts. Avalara’s AvaTax also integrates with other commonly used accounting and point-of-sale (POS) systems. “AvaTax will calculate estimated taxes on the front end of the order,” Foreman explains, “and follow it through the process. If the order changes – for example, if there are five items on an order and two are denied or cancelled, the final tax amount will be sent back to Avatax. At the end of the month, quarter or year, users simply log in to their Avalara account to generate reports and submit them to the appropriate agencies.”
Greg Chapman, senior vice president of partner management at Avalara said, “Aleyant understands the needs of its customers, and Pressero reduces complexity for their business in many ways. We understand that digitization of business processes is not an option, it is essential; we are proud to offer fast, accurate, and easy tax compliance solutions to our shared customers.”
Aleyant is now an Avalara Certified partner. Certified partners pass a series of criteria developed by Avalara to ensure the connector’s performance and reliability, thereby helping mutual customers benefit from a seamless experience with Avalara’s tax compliance solutions. This integration is immediately available to Pressero customers who either already have or are purchasing an Avatax license.
