Print mailings continue to assert themselves in the marketing mix, not least thanks to high conversion rates. The online printing company ONLINEPRINTERS/ now makes it easier for its customers to send print mailings with a new self-mailing service. "From now on our customers can order printing and addressed delivery in one. The process behind it was set up in close cooperation with our partner O/D Ottweiler Druckerei und Verlag GmbH in a planning phase lasting several months. The result is a service that requires only a few clicks and saves our customers time and money. One of the great advantages of our self-mailing service is that our customers only pay the postage for the exact print run, which is based on the number of addresses that are supplied," says Christian Würst, Managing Director and CCO of ONLINEPRINTERS. The self-mailing service is currently available to customers in Germany. Preparations are already underway for other countries.
Industry experts jointly implement the process
With O/D Ottweiler Druckerei und Verlag GmbH, ONLINEPRINTERS/ has been able to gain a proven industry specialist as a cooperation partner, which sent out 100 million print mailings last year alone. "Print mailings are a complex offer if you want to display it online", emphasizes Dominique Paul, Managing Director of O/D Ottweiler Druckerei und Verlag GmbH and explains: "For configuration variants, secure data transfer, delivery dates and postage calculation, we have developed a new shop solution together with the e-commerce professional ONLINEPRINTERS". The print data is transferred via an interface, customers can upload their address lists in compliance with data protection regulations and find design templates in the online shop with the design specifications of the shipping service provider.
Area-wide delivery guaranteed
One challenge is the area-wide delivery, which only a few shipping service providers can guarantee. Deutsche Post was therefore chosen as delivery partner. Thomas Hoffmeister, Sales Director System Partner Deutsche Post AG, explains: "Our exclusive access to letter systems is regularly checked by us in terms of quality. This is another way in which we guarantee the highest coverage among delivery staff".
Print product classics for print mailings
Currently, customers of ONLINEPRINTERS/ can choose from four products: a self-mailer with and without cap, postcards in maxi format and posters in A3 format that are folded into a letter. Mailing expert Dominique Paul explains: "The maxi-postcard is an efficient instrument for customer loyalty measures and is suitable for a quick response. The Maxicard in DIN long format is generally very suitable for mailings with coupon and savings codes. Self-mailers with or without caps are suitable for the presentation of several product offers and one or the other well-done A3 poster mailing has certainly made it to the office wall of a customer.
The latest CMC study proves the advantages of print mailings, certifies an average conversion rate of 4.9 percent, and comes to the conclusion that with well-done print mailings, every euro spent pays off with 9.90 euros in sales.
