The most innovative project came from SNAP: at the annual Enfocus partner channel event, which took place from 5 to 9 February 2018 in Naples (Italy), more than 60 integrators from all over the world made their choice.

The experts agreed that the award "Most Innovative Switch Solution 2017" will go to SNAP this year.
The prize was awarded for the European Union's "General Publications Validation Chain" (GPVAL) project implemented by SNAP in 2017.
The Publications Office of the European Union in Luxembourg has an output of about 12,000 publications per year for the EU institutions with more than 30,000 deliverables. Technical output formats are PDF-A, PDF-X, ePUB, XML and various image formats.
Different formats, high production volumes, time pressure, complex naming conventions, decentralized workflows, various software tools, inconsistent versions, many external service providers and manual processes: The need of automation has been more than obvious.
SNAP Innovation, together with the EU project team, has implemented a standardized production workflow with Enfocus Switch, which is used to process all production orders. The "Validation Chain" comprises the fully automated input, preflight and approval of all production data in a single Switch workflow. All workflow steps are logged, incorrect files are sorted out and approved files are immediately routed to subsequent systems. The time required to check up to 150 deliverables per day in 24 languages has been reduced by 80% - while simultaneously increasing quality and speed.
"In order to simplify the inspection of incoming data, we have been able to combine the tools used so far with Enfocus Switch to form a seamless chain of fully automated processes. As a result, the Publication Office employees only have to approve the data once and for all for further processing. All the preliminary tests and subsequent preparation for subsequent systems were fully automated," says Ingo Röseler, who implemented the project at SNAP Innovation. "We are of course very pleased that we are receiving this award from a worldwide jury of experts."
