The WAN-IFRA's Digital Media Awards Asia recognise news media organisations that are leaders in the adoption of digital media and mobile strategies in response to how people consume news and information. One hundred and forty-five entries were submitted in this year’s competition.

The winners were awarded at a ceremony in Singapore on Thursday night as part of the Digital Media Asia conference, with about 300 attendees from 98 organisations in 27 countries.
Malaysian broadcaster Astro AWANI which entered the competition in the small/medium category won Gold and Silver in the best Special Project in Covid-19, Gold in the Best Branded/Sponsored Content Campaign, and was runners-up in the Best Newsletter,
The Tatler shone brightly in the small/medium publisher category, and they also beat their larger counterparts to clinch Gold in the overall Best Newsletter category. They also won Gold in both the Podcast/Digital Audio Project and Best Lifestyle or Sports Site in the small/medium category.
Singapore’s SPH Media won overall Gold and Silver in the Best Lifestyle or Sports Site, Gold in the best Podcast/Digital Audio Project, and runners-up in Special Project in Covid-19.l
This year's competition also saw first-time winners in BuddyKu, CNN Indonesia, Commonwealth Magazine, Economist Impact, GMA News Online, Kontinentalist, Our Grandfather Story and The Storm Media.
