Nepata Group takes over distribution for Vulcan finishing equipment

Digital finishing technology is evolving rapidly. This is proven by Vulcan's new comfort flatbed plotters with high-resolution camera system and advanced contour cutting. The equipment for print finishing from the manufacturer Vulcan is now available in Europe. Distribution is handled by the Nepata Group. This company already offers reliable machines for advertising technology and digital finishing under the Secabo brand.
The flatbed plotter series with the Vulcan FC-500VC and FC-700VC equipment enables very productive finishing of printed products. With two independently controllable tools, cutting and folding jobs can be carried out efficiently.
Camera system detects cut marks within seconds
The devices use a high-resolution camera to accurately detect even the smallest registration marks, 5 mm is sufficient. The CCD sensors can detect contour cut marks on both colored and transparent materials - in just a few seconds.
Precise cuts thanks to algorithm
High-tech is also used to ensure precise cuts: in the form of the company's own four-mark recognition algorithm. The Vulcan equipment is even able to handle materials that are loaded at an angle and compensate for size and shape distortions.
Cut and fold on the rear side
Another advanced feature is the ability to fold and cut on the rear side. This prevents broken fold edges on printed material. For this purpose, the cut marks are read out and cut in. The medium is then turned over and the holes are now used as new contour cut marks. In this way, the cut and fold are made from the unprinted rear side.
From prototype to special application
Vulcan flatbed plotters can be used for a wide range of applications: prototypes for boxes and crates, place cards, display stands, stickers, model making moulds or specially shaped business cards. Vulcan FC units are also ideal for special industrial applications. The smaller FC-500VC model has a maximum cut size of 495 x 685 mm, while the FC-700VC can process up to 790 x 1080 mm - and thus all common print media.
